Laura M. Anderson Lawrenz, 82, of Tomah, was called home by her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday, March 4, 2012, at the Serenity House in Tomah. She was born June 7, 1929, to Clement and Lillian (Lewis) Eddy in Eau Claire. She was a member of the Alango High School graduating class of 1947. She was united in marriage to Roy Anderson on Dec. 17, 1949, in Hibbing, Minn. He preceded her in death on May 12, 1990. She was united in marriage to Edwin Lawrenz on June 12, 1993, at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church. He preceded her in death on Dec. 13, 2009.
She was a homemaker for many years. She worked out of the home for several years at Gardner’s Bakery. She enjoyed sewing and putting together puzzles and listening to gospel music, especially the Gaither Gospel Homecoming Group. She was an excellent cook, and her specialty was making real Italian spaghetti and meatballs. She was a faithful and founding member of the Church of the Nazarene in Tomah. Laura and Roy held the first church services in their home until the church was built. Most important to Laura was her family. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend. Laura had a strong and loving faith in Jesus Christ.
She is survived by her daughter, Janelle (Thomas) Faulkner of Tomah; a son, Jeff (Lori) Anderson of Pine City, Minn.; a stepson, James (Heidi) Lawrenz of Vacaville, Calif.; five grandchildren, Danielle (Matt) Faber of City Point, Nicole (Ben) Ryner of City Point, Kyle Faulkner of Tomah, Evan Anderson of Madison and Kevin Faulkner of Tomah; four great-grandchildren, Sophia Faber, Isabella and Isaac Ryner, and an expected great-granddaughter Avery Faber; four sisters, Vera Manor of Chippewa Falls, Ruth Write of Janesville, Shirley Meier of Elk Mound and Judy (Jim) Luedtke of Kewaskum; two brothers, Lyle (Ardie) Eddy and Willard (Diane) Eddy, both of Janesville; four sisters-in-law, Agnes Eddy of Hibbing, Irene Tratar of White Bear Lake, Minn., Evelyn Peterson of Duluth, Minn., and Irene Eddy of Menomonie; nieces; nephews; and other relatives and friends.
In addition to her two husbands, she was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers Don, Ted and Kenneth Eddy; an infant brother, Charles “Buddy”; and two brothers-in-law, Bill Manor and Lloyd Write.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday, March 7, 2012, at 11 a.m. at the Church of the Nazarene, 25481 County Hwy. ET, Tomah. Pastor James Leston officiated. Burial was in the Oak Grove Cemetery.
Relatives and friends called on Tuesday, March 6, 2012, from 4-7 p.m. at the Sonnenburg Family Funeral Home, 801 E. Monowau St. Tomah, and at the church on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.
