Candidates in two La Crosse area Assembly races will square off in debates Tuesday on the UW-La Crosse campus.
The debates, sponsored by the League of Women Voters, will begin at 7 p.m. in Port O’ Call, in Cartwright Center’s Gunning Addition.
Candidates in the 94th Assembly District — incumbent Steve Doyle, D-Onalaska, and challenger Julian Bradley, R-Holmen — will face off at 7 p.m. Candidates in the 96th Assembly District, incumbent Lee Nerison, R-Westby, and challenger Alicia Leinberger, D-Viroqua, will debate at 8 p.m.
Independent Chip DeNure, Republican Dan Kapanke and incumbent Democrat Jennifer Shilling will discuss their candidacies for the 32nd District Senate seat from at 7 p.m. Nov. 1 in the Great Room of the Cleary Center, also on the UW-La Crosse campus.
Co-sponsors of these events are UW-La Crosse, the La Crosse Tribune, WKBT-TV, WXOW-TV, WLSU radio and the UW-La Crosse Political Science Department.
The 32nd state Senate and 96th Assembly Districts include the towns of Angelo, Adrian, Tomah, Leon, Wells, Ridgeville, Wilton, Portland, Jefferson, Sheldon and Wellington and villages of Norwalk, Wilton, Melvina and Cashton in Monroe County.
