The Tomah community is invited to attend the Marilyn School Of Dance, LLC Student Choreography Showcase and Fundraiser 2018.
The show is Saturday, March 17 at the Tomah High School auditorium at 6:30 p.m.
Tickets are on sale for $6 each at Marilyn School Of Dance or from the participants, and tickets will also be available at the door.
Funds raised from the show will support Families First of Monroe County and the Tomah Area Neighbor for Neighbor Food Pantry.
The seniors of MSD, LLC will be the masters of ceremony as they announce student-choreographed pieces. There will be a variety of dances designed to appeal to all audience members, including jazz, hip-hop, tap and musical theatre.
Special guests include the Elation Dance Company from Delafield and the award-winning Dance Stars complete competition exhibition.
Student choreography participants include MSD students from both Tomah and Black River Falls studios: Performing will be Addison Berry, Trinity Brach, Laney Champlin, Whitney Draeger, Jessica Dreier, Ellie Eswein, Emma Gearing, Kaitlynn Gigous, Courtney Hale, Elizabeth Haws, Ruby Joyce, Carly Martin, Shelby Perez, Grace Rezin, Halle Rezin, Livia Rezin, Makenna Roose, Olivia Rumsey, Paige Sheldon, Anna Wall and Natalie Zeps in addition to the MSD seniors Kaitlyn Austin, Carisa Cleven, Merceydeis Falk-Huzar and Elizabeth Pardoe, each of whom will debut their senior solos, which may also be seen at the MSD performance set for Saturday, May 12 at 1 p.m, and 5:30 p.m.
The Dance Stars from MSD, Tomah, Black River Falls, and Mauston will feature their 2018 competition concert. The Dance Stars are a not-for-profit performing dance company that shares its love of the art of dance by performing as a community service group. They have performed at Downtown Disney at Walt Disney World Florida, opened for the Harlem Globe Trotters at the La Crosse Center, performed for the Good Sam’s RV Club National Convention, danced on the Carnival Cruise Ship Destiny and opened for “Tomah Night” at a La Crosse Loggers’ game in Copeland Park.
Under the direction of Suzanne Swanson Wagner, Amanda Konsitzke and Annaliese Wagner, Dance Stars range in age from 12-17. They include Kaitlyn Austin, Trinity Brach, Jessica Dreier, Ellie Eswein, Emma Gearing, Courtney Hale, Beth Haws, Carly Martin, Shelby Perez, Grace Rezin, Halle Rezin, Livia Rezin, Olivia Rumsey, Paige Sheldon and Natalie Zeps.
The Elation Dance Company, directed by MSD alumni and Tomah High School graduate Marja (Martalock) Finnigan, will help MSD celebrate the eighth year that the two studios have united in a dance exchange. The Dance Stars traveled to Delafield in February for a joint performance.
