A section of Highway M in the town of Wilton will close for two weeks during weekdays starting Monday, Oct. 15.

The highway will close between Limestone Avenue and Hwy. MM through the intersection of Kettle Road 1.7 miles north of Hwy. 71. Kettle Road will also be closed at Hwy. M.

The Monroe County Highway Department said the road will reopen at night and on weekends. Law enforcement and emergency personnel will be able to cross the construction zone at all times during the project.

No detour will be posted.

The work is expected to be completed by the end of October but could take longer depending on weather conditions.

Mathy Construction of Onalaska is the contractor for the $125,000 project, which is being funded through Monroe County and the Wisconsin Department of Transportation’s Local Road Improvement program.
