BloodCenter continues to have a critical need for life-saving blood donations. Donors of all blood types are needed, but especially O negative blood donors who carry the universal blood type given to patients in emergency situations.

Vernon County blood donors can help patients in need at BloodCenter of Wisconsin’s upcoming blood drive Wednesday, Oct. 17, from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Brookwood High School, 28861 State Hwy. 131, Ontario.

Each week in October, all attempting blood donors will be automatically entered to win our Green and Gold Sweepstakes, which includes a tailgate party and two tickets to the Dec. 2 football game at Lambeau Field.

Anyone 17 or older who is in good health and meets eligibility requirements is encouraged to donate blood. Appointments are preferred, but walk-in donors are also welcome. Parental consent is required for 16-year-olds to donate. The entire process takes about an hour. Donors should bring a photo ID that includes birth date.
