A group of local citizens has joined efforts to put together a Flood Relief Benefit, to be held at the Olerud Barn, S221 Olerud Road, outside of Westby on Oct. 14. This family-friendly event will run from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., with food (PK’s Best Ever Chicken) and drinks served all day (until gone).

A NASCAR race auction will begin at 11 a.m., along with the opening of a Chinese raffle and wine raffle. The race auction will offer participants a chance to “buy” a driver for the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series race held that day, and proceeds will be split between donations and payouts to participants. The wine raffle will feature bottles donated from vineyards throughout Wisconsin. Live entertainment by the Couleegans will begin at noon, followed by a live auction, with a chance to bid on items such as (two) two-day passes to Country Boom, a Jasmine Guitar, a Harley Davidson leather jacket, a two-day cabin stay at Jellystone, a two-day cabin stay at Merry Mac, a Cabela’s Polar Cap cooler, a signed Mike Daniels helmet, and 10 guns, along with pies and baked goods. Donations for the Chinese raffle and live auction are still being accepted.

A generous grant from a local organization is covering all operational costs for the benefit, allowing 100 percent of the proceeds from the live auction, food and drink sales, and raffles to be distributed to flood victims. Applications for flood relief funds will be reviewed in a blind process, and tiered based on significance of damage/need. For more information, call 608-634-6202.
