A tour of the Don Boland farm, 18732 Hwy. 27, Gays Mills, will be held Tuesday, Oct. 16, at 10:30 a.m. The topic is using EQIP for a new access road and remote deep bury water sites and extending the grazing season with stockpile. Directions: From Seneca: Travel 3 miles north on Hwy. 27. The farm is on the right, Fire No. 18732
The second pasture walk will be held on the Vance and Olaf Haugen farm, 12620 Deer Road, Canton, Minnesota, Tuesday, Oct. 30, at 10:30 a.m. The topic is late fall/early winter paddock planning for dairy grazing and Kura Clover production for seed. The guest speaker is Bonnie Haugen of DGA on “How the importance of soil health for pastures affects feeding our cows, and consequently our profitability. Improving soil health ideas.” Directions: Fillmore County: From Decorah, Iowa, take Hwy. 52N about 17 miles to the intersection of Hwys. 44 and 52. through intersection onto Dove Road. Go .5 mile to right on Deer Road Go 1.5 miles to farm on east side of road. Fire No. 12620.
