The fourth annual Auction to Benefit the Center for Special Children will take place Saturday, June 16, at 8:30 a.m. at the Grower’s Produce Auction, Cashton.

The auction will feature a wide selection of locally and handmade crafts, quilts, furniture, baskets, household items, lawn and garden items, and more.

A waffle breakfast will be served starting at 7 a.m. and food will be available for purchase throughout the day.

All auction proceeds benefit the Center for Special Children in La Farge – a VernonMemorial Healthcare program. The Center for Special Children was established in 2015 at the La Farge Medical Clinic in response to a need from the local community to diagnose and care for children with genetic disorders. The program provides all aspects of care, at a low cost, from clinic visits to advanced genetic testing to improve the lives of special children and their families.

The auction in Cashton and Withee provide two-thirds of the annual operating budget of the program, which is also supported by Vernon Memorial Healthcare, Organic Valley, UW-Madison, and individual donations. Auction proceeds make it possible to identify and treat rare diseases at a local level while contributing to a worldwide bank of genomic knowledge that benefits all cultures and communities.

If you are interested in donating items for the auction, contact Sheri Hammond at 608-625-4039.
