Vehicle catches fire

Joseph L. Kleiber's vehicle caught fire Oct. 5 on Hwy. T near Hwy. 14.

No one was injured in a single-vehicle fire on Hwy. T near Hwy. 14 in the town of Viroqua Oct. 5.

According to the Vernon County Sheriff’s Office, at about 8:50 p.m. while traveling on Hwy. T, Joseph L. Kleiber, 24, of rural Viroqua, heard a noise coming from his vehicle’s engine compartment. Kleiber pulled over to check and his vehicle caught on fire. The vehicle became fully engulfed when law enforcement arrived on scene. The fire was extinguished by the Viroqua Fire Department. Kleiber reported no injuries.

The Viroqua Fire Department, Viroqua Police Department and Tri-State Ambulance assisted at the scene. The accident remains under investigation Sheriff’s Office.
