Two people were injured in a two-vehicle accident on Hwy. 27 Nov. 1 at about 9:29 p.m.

According to the Vernon County Sheriff’s Office, Amanda Lathrop, 33, of Gays Mills, was headed eastbound on State Hwy. 27 near the County Road J intersection in the town of Viroqua. Joshua Kirking, 35, of Viroqua, was headed westbound on State Hwy. 27 when their vehicles collided head on. Lathrop’s vehicle was sent into the ditch where it rolled over and coming to rest on its roof. Kirking’s vehicle remained on the roadway. Both vehicles had front end damage and were towed away from the scene. Kirking was transported by ambulance to Vernon Memorial Hospital. Lathrop was taken to Vernon Memorial Hospital by a private party.

The Viroqua Fire Department and Gundersen Tri-State Ambulance assisted at the scene. The crash remains under investigation.
