Sheriff John Spears reports the following ongoing activities for the year and narrative excerpts from the week ending June 7.

6/6 Abram L. McDowell, Viroqua and Derek K. Felde, De Soto, were both traveling east bound on State Hwy. 82 in the town of Sterling; when at the intersection of State Hwy. 82 and Nelson Road, McDowell attempted to pass Felde, while Felde was operating farm equipment. Felde was not using a turn signal or flashing lights. As McDowell was passing Felde, Felde began a left hand turn onto Nelson Road. McDowell struck Felde, and McDowell ended movement in the ditch at the intersection. McDowell’s vehicle was towed due to disabling damage, Felde’s farm equipment was not towed, but received disabling damage. McDowell and Felde did not receive any injuries.
