The Viroqua girls and boys track teams participated in two indoor meets in March.

The Blackhawks traveled to Gostomski Fieldhouse at St. Mary’s University in Winona, Minn., for the G-E-T Early Bird Indoor on March 19. Two days later, the Blackhawks participated in the Tri-State Small School Invitational at the Williams Fieldhouse at UW-Platteville on March 21.

Team scores weren’t kept at the G-E-T meet, but Viroqua had a number of solid individual performances.

Viroqua’s Ally Stilwell won the girls 200 dash in :30.71 and her teammate Chloe Horan won the pole vault with a leap of 7-foot-6.

Other top-six finishers for the Viroqua girls included Delilah Vance, third, 400, 1:10.5; Olivia Abt, third, 1,600, 6:15; Lydia Noble, third, pole vault; 7-0; Laura Schneider, fourth, 800, 2:56.77; and Noble, fifth, 55 hurdles, :10.22.

Viroqua’s relay teams placed in all three relay events, but individual participants weren’t listed in results on PrimeTime Timing.

For the Blackhawk boys, senior Ryan Onshus won the 55 hurdles in :8.33 and Jeremy Lee won the pole vault with a leap of 11-6.

Brady Nigh placed third in the shot put with a throw of 39-9.

All of Viroqua’s boys relay teams placed, but again, individual participants weren’t listed in the results.

At the Tri-State meet at UW-P, there were 23 schools with the Viroqua girls placing ninth and the boys placing 14th.

Josie Wiltrout was the top individual placewinner for Viroqua taking second in the pole vault with a leap of 8-6.

Also placing in the top six for the Viroqua girls were Madelyn Anderson, third in the 400 in 1:04.68; and Rachel Nigh, fifth in the pole vault, with a leap of 8 feet.

Viroqua’s girls 1,600 relay team of Anderson, Mady Stackhouse, Stilwell and Joslyn Dearborn placed fourth in 4:34.88. Viroqua’s girls 800 relay team of Stilwell, Samantha Clark, Lauren Woody and Dearborn placed fifth in 2:01.64.

Onshus placed in the top six twice for the Viroqua boys taking second in the 55 hurdles in :8.23 and fifth in the 200 in :24.98.

Evan Veres rounded out the placewinners for the Viroqua boys by taking sixth in the pole vault with a leap of 9-6.

Viroqua’s first outdoor meet is to be Tuesday, April 7, at Boscobel.
