Arlean Marie Stefferud, 93, of Viroqua died Monday, Aug. 7, 2017, at Bland Bekkedal Center for Hospice Care in Viroqua.
Arlean was born June 7, 1924, to Albert and Anna (Mittlebach) Larson. On Nov. 21, 1941, she was united in marriage to Berner Stefferud. Together they farmed and raised their children. Eventually they purchased and operated the John Deere dealership as Stefferud Equipment for many, many years until their son, Bruce took over. Arlean continued to help Bruce for quite a few years after that.
Arlean is survived by her children, Maren (Alan) Opsahl, Bruce Stefferud, Kathy (Tom) Colclough and Debra (Richard) Solverson; eight grandchildren, Brad (Lisa), Kari (Dale), Dustin (Liza), Renny (Jody), Ryan (Flora), Britt (Angie), Kristin (Josh), Jason; 12 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Also surviving is a special niece and nephew, Pat Nestor and Tom (Karen) Larson; and many relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Berner in 1985; a son, Stephen Stefferud in 2000; and her siblings, Delbert Larson, AnnAdel Johnson, Harold Larson, Sidney Larson, and Helen Hansen.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Aug. 12, at the Vosseteig Funeral Home in Westby. The Reverend Doctor Stephen Fossum officiated with burial at Moen Cemetery immediately following the service. Friends may called on the family during a visitation one hour before the service at the funeral home or following the burial at a luncheon at the Moen Church.
In lieu of flowers or plants, memorials may be directed to the Bland-Bekkedal Center for Hospice Care or to Maplewood Terrace in Arlean’s name.
