The Friends of Chaseburg are holding its annual Family Fun Days fundraiser on June 15-16. This year’s activities begin on Friday, June 15, with a fish fry (batterfried of broiled) beginning at 5 p.m. along with ball games in the Chaseburg Village Park .

Then on Saturday, June 16, the fun kicks off with the annual Ky’s 3.1 Run/Walk beginning at 9 a.m. The run/walk is a sure way to get your blood pumping while helping the Bruce and Shirley Von Ruden family to raise scholarship money for Westby Area High School graduates. The run/walk event is held in honor, Kylie VonRuden, a Chaseburg teen whose life was cut short short at the age of 17 as the result of an automobile accident.

At 11 a.m., charcoal chicken and catfish dinners will be served in the park shelter until gone. There will be youth softball and baseball games on the field, a bounce house by the playground, and a cornhole tournament. DJ and karaoke begins at 8 p.m. until midnight; with fireworks at dusk. The annual Friends of Chaseburg raffle drawing will be held after the fireworks display. The grand prize winner has the chioce of a Polaris Quad Runner or $2,500 cash.

The Friends of Chaseburg and Chasettes community service organizations were both established in 2005 after the disbandment of the Chaseburg Lions and Lioness clubs. Both organizations are nonprofit groups whose focus is improving the enrichment of the area and supporting area youth. They promote higher education through annual scholarships, donations to worthy causes, and all money raised goes back into community improvement projects.

Family Fun Days this weekend is sponsored by The Friends of Chaseburg, with assistance from the Chaseburg Chasettes. For more information about The Friends of Chaseburg contact Eric Ostrem, at or 780-0452. For more information about the Chasettes contact Julie Martine at or 483-2127.
