Roy Jefson

Roy Jefson loves tending to the flowers that surround the Westby Area Historical Society Thoreson House.

The Westby Area Historical Society will present the 2017 Volunteer of the Year on Monday, Nov. 6, at 5:30 p.m. This year’s award is being presented to long-time WAHS member Roy Jefson.

Jefson’s tireless efforts to beautify the grounds of the Thoreson House Museum will be recognized when his name is added to the plaque with past honored recipients. Throughout the growing season, beginning in April, through the last days of the fall season, you can see Roy planting, watering and weeding the flowers at the WAHS museum.

Jefson has a soft spot in his heart for the grounds because he lived here with his aunt and uncle during his school days because winter weather made it impossible to attend school from his family’s country home.

Please join us when we present Roy with this well-deserved honor.
