Westby Elementary School students recently watched a 30 minute jump rope performance by the WIZARDS Jump Rope Club from Southern Bluffs Elementary. The American Heart Association supports the program and its traveling team, the WIZARDS, as they perform at various schools around the Coulee Region during the year.

WES Principal Bruce Peterson, along with several teachers, and many students also had a chance to jump rope with the WIZARDS. Jumpers enjoyed single, partner, long jump rope, and Double Dutch jump roping tricks. Highlights of the show were the amazing tricks of the cowboy and double under. Students were very excited to try many of these skills themselves the following days in their own physical education class.

On Feb. 14 and 15 students at WES participated in the annual Jump Rope for Heart event.
