Westby, Coon Valley and Chaseburg have lost an outstanding, dedicated reporter and supporter. Dorothy Robson truly was “the person” who gave a “whoop” for our three communities. She was an incredibly energetic reporter who listened to the scanner to get the latest breaking reports of accidents or fires. She was on top of school activities, reporting equally on athletic and musical events and everything in between. Her stories covered current and historic events equally well.

How she managed the long hours she dedicated to the paper, her job at Old Towne, serving as a first responder, and caring for her family is difficult to imagine. Whatever she was paid, we suspect it wasn’t enough to reward her award-winning performance. We hope the Times will continue to give our communities the love and dedication we have enjoyed under Dorothy’s tenure. For ourselves, we extend our thanks for a job well done and wish her happiness in her new job! We’ll miss you “on the beat.”

Tom and Sharon Sharratt, Westby
