Wylie is a four-year-old, neutered male, Australian Shepherd Mix who is current on vaccinations.

He is a handsome boy in need of a very patient and loving home to help him gain some confidence. Prior to arriving at the shelter he hadn’t been exposed to normal daily life and is very unsure and nervous in new situations and with new people. But once he gets to know you, he is very sweet and likes being pet, going for long walks, and even trying to snuggle up on your lap!

Wylie has not had any accidents in his foster home and should do well with a consistent routine. He does well being crated but has also been very well behaved being out in the house overnight—he does not tend to chew on things, bark, or get into mischief. With taking any new dog home, however, we’d recommend a crate or safe room to start out.

He did live with another dog previously and liked her. However, due to not being properly socialized at a younger age, he can be reactive towards new dogs at first and will need a slow introduction to other pets. Wylie needs to live in an ADULT ONLY home — he is very shy and not at all comfortable around children or even the teenager in his foster home.

Visit Wylie or one of the many other animals available for adoption at the Coulee Region Humane Society from 1-5 p.m. Monday, Wednesday, Friday-Sunday or 1-7 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday.
