The Holmen Booster Club is looking to boost its membership. The group is holding a membership drive with a kickoff at Holmen High School Monday, July 16, from 4:45 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Since March 1989, HBC members have been involved in fundraising activities, basketball tournament concessions, awarding scholarships, contributing funds to support the school district’s teams and community organizations.
The booster club is offering a special promotion to anyone joining the club at the $40 level with a free meal prepared by Sweet Lou Barbeque and a nationwide coupon app.
The food truck operated by HHS graduate Andy Fischer will be serving meals of a six-ounce pulled pork sandwich and sauce, baked beans and coleslaw.
The Riddell Savings Pass app gives users access to 12 months of two-for-one and up to 50 percent off offers at national retailers, travel and hospitality accommodations, movies and other entertainment services.
The savings can be accessed online or through the app. A portion of the sales of the coupon program go to support local teams.
Funds raised through the membership drive are used to help fund the school district’s co-curricular activities and athletic programs at the middle and high schools. HBC members can also be involved in monthly booster meetings.
A $25 membership is also available, but doesn’t include the coupon app and barbecue meal.
