Jerry farmed in Gills Coulee with his family, and they named the home farm “Wildhaven Farm.” Jerry’s passion was milking Registered Holstein Cows. He loved selecting the genetics and breeding and every aspect of being a genuine herdsman. Jerry was a past member of the Holstein Breeders Association and Brookside 4-H, and a West Salem FFA alumni. He was a Green Bay Packers and Wisconsin Badgers football fan, and enjoyed spending time and visiting with his family and friends. In his spare time, he enjoyed Western and War movies.

He is survived by his two sisters, Joan Marker of West Salem and Jill (Terry) Blank of La Crosse; one brother, Jeff (Johnnye) Hauser of West Salem; and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother-in-law, David Marker.

Quote, “One thing I will miss on this earth are my roadside chats with Mel Moe and Fred Miller. Mel kept me informed about all activity going on in Upper Gills Coulee. Fred kept me informed about the lower half of Gills Coulee and the state of farming in general. Together, we couldn’t solve anything,” end quote. — Jerry W. Houser.

The Blaschke & Schneider Funeral Homes are assisting the family with arrangements.

Jerry’s family would like to take the time to “Thank” Gundersen Hospice and all the health care workers for the wonderful care that Jerry received during his illness. We also would like to thank all the friends and relatives for their visits during his illness.
