SPRING GROVE, Minn. — Country music star Joe Diffie headlines Spring Grove’s Syttende Mai weekend Musikk Fest event, which will be held Saturday, May 19, running from 5 to 10:30 p.m. in the Spring Grove Fest Building, 110 N. Division Ave.

Diffie, a member of the Grand Ole Opry for more than 20 years, dominated the country charts in the 1990’s with chart-toppers including “Pickup Man,” “Third Rock From the Sun,” and “John Deere Green.”

A renowned songwriter in addition to his performing and recording career, Diffie has hits for artists including Tim McGraw, Conway Twitty, and Jo Dee Messina to his credit, and has cuts on upcoming projects for “X Factor” winner Tate Stevens, Dylan Scott, and Tyler Farr among others.

Diffie has an album of his own due out later this year on Bigger Picture Records.

Getting the musical festivities rolling will be the Avey Grouws Band and Andy Hughes.

Tickets for the inaugural running of Musikk Fest are $20 and can be purchased in advance online at
