A free, two-hour workshop on social media marketing for small businesses will be presented at the Food Enterprise Center in Viroqua Sept 20 from 6-8 p.m.

Participants have the choice of attending either a session focused on getting started with Pinterest for business and paid advertising on Facebook and Instagram, or a session focused on how to use free features on Instagram to engage with potential customers. The two sessions run simultaneously in separate rooms at the Food Enterprise Center.

The Facebook advertising session is facilitated by Alex Johnson, a local social media and marketing manager. Instagram for small business is facilitated by Carolyn Zick, owner of Bad Axe Enterprises and director of communications at Bank of Cashton.

It is recommend that participants bring a smartphone, tablet or device for either session to engage hands-on during the session. Bring your login information for your business’s Instagram and Facebook accounts. Don’t have an Instagram account yet? No problem. Just come with the app downloaded on your phone to learn how to start from the ground up. This is a networking event too, so bring your business cards to hand out.

For further information, contact Zick at 608-769-8645 or badaxe.enterprises@gmail.com. No reservations are required. It is co-sponsored by Vernon Economic Development Association and the Bank of Cashton.
