BLACK RIVER FALLS — Penny Louise Elmore, 54, of Black River Falls passed away Saturday, April 8, 2017, at home in Black River Falls.

She was born Dec. 19, 1962, daughter of Vernon and Mary (Larson) Gjerseth. She married Jody Jay Elmore Dec. 29, 1984.

Penny lived in Black River Falls her whole life, where she worked in accounting with Clifton Gunderson, Pine View Nursing Home and Lunda Construction. She was very active in the church. She belonged to the United Methodist Women’s Group and Snow Creek Homemakers. She enjoyed crafting, scrap booking and stamping, especially with friends. She was a four time cancer survivor; Hodgkin’s lymphoma twice and breast cancer twice. Her grandchildren meant the world to her.

Penny is survived by her parents; husband, Jody; son, Robert (Stephanie) Elmore; brothers, David (Kim) Gjerseth and Barry (Karolyn) Gjerseth; and four grandchildren, Braiden, Jaxston, Gracie and Ella Elmore.

Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 13, at Black River Falls United Methodist Church with Pastor Kathleen Jury officiating.

Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 12, at Buswell Funeral Home in Black River Falls and again from 10 a.m. until time of services Thursday at the church.
