WEST SALEM/ROCHESTER, Minn. — Anne M. Loomis, 60, of West Salem passed away peacefully Friday, May 11, 2018, at Methodist Hospital in Rochester, following three years dealing with mucosal melanoma.

Anne was born in Cleveland, March 4, 1958. Her family moved to southern California, when Anne was two years old and she lived there, in the Orange County area, until 2007.

Anne received her bachelor’s degree from Cal State, Fullerton and completed her MBA at the University of Southern California Marshall School of Business. She spent the bulk of her professional career in advertising and marketing management positions within the pharmaceutical industry. Her last formal position was as executive vice president and director of client services at the medical advertising division of McCann Healthcare in San Diego. Throughout her career, Anne was recognized for her outstanding strategic thinking and mentor-ship to those who reported to her. Many former colleagues that are now in senior management positions, particularly female colleagues, can claim many of their early lessons in leadership and management to their time working with Anne.

In 2007, Anne and her husband, Richard, decided to move to Richard’s childhood home area of La Crosse, settling in West Salem. The move was driven by their desire to raise their two daughters in a place with a strong sense of community and the years since then proved their decision to be the right one.

Since moving to West Salem, Anne had been very active in the community, including Girl Scouts, CCD instructor at St. Leo The Great parish, member of The Village People of West Salem, member of the La Crosse County Historic Sites Preservation Commission and board member of the Ridge History Park in Middle Ridge. In all her community activities, particularly when leading or teaching youth groups, Anne stressed the mission of service to the community through concrete service projects.

Anne will be remembered as an expansive personality with a unique combination of humor, kindness, creativity and competence that will be deeply missed by her family and her community.

Anne is survived by her husband, Richard; and daughters, Catherine and Madeline of West Salem. Additionally, Anne is survived by her parents, William and Dolores Parsch of Laguna Hills, Calif.; brothers, William (Marian) and Tim (Victoria); and sisters, Mary (Jim) Smith and Margaret (Brian) Hoien. Besides her immediately family, Anne is also survived by her nieces, Jessica Hansen, Josie Gonzalez and Sarah Loomis; and nephews, Kevin, Ciarán, Michael, Paul and Andrew Loomis, as well as Pierce Baird, Carter Parsch and Aaron Hoien. Anne was preceded in death by her sister, Jeanie; as well as her grandparents.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 2, at St. Leo The Great Catholic Church, 210 W. Hamlin St., West Salem. The Reverend Douglas Robertson will be celebrant. There will be a rosary at 5 p.m. followed by a visitation until 8 p.m. Friday, June 1, at St. Leo’s. A visitation will also be held from 9:30 a.m. until the time of Mass Saturday.
