WESTBY — Carla R. Olson, 92, of Westby died Saturday, Sept. 3, 2011. She was born on Aug. 30, 1919, to John and Clara (Aarstad) Wangen. On Sept. 27, 1939, she was united in marriage to Arthur Olson and together they farmed for 48 years until retiring and moving into Westby in 1987. Carla was a member of Westby Coon Prairie Lutheran Church and the WELCA.
She is survived by her daughter, Carol (Clinton) Solberg of Sherwood, Wis.; her son, Allen (Alene) Olson of Baraboo, Wis.; five grandchildren: Tanya (Juan Hurtado) Solberg, Kimberly (Wael) Wehbe, Michael (Maria) Solberg, Ingrid (Brian) Frank, and Wade Olson; nine great-grandchildren: Elena and Lucas Hurtado, Evan and Carmen Wehbe, Evangelos and Athena Solberg, Kiersten and Ethan Frank, and Tyler Olson; and other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two infant sons and her husband, Arthur, on Dec. 18, 1995; one great-grandchild, Andreas Solberg; and four brothers: Jalmar Wangen, Ray Wangen, Alton Wangen and Clayton Wangen.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, Sept. 9, 2011, at 11 a.m. at Westby Coon Prairie Lutheran Church. Pastor Dennis Hallemeier will officiate with burial in the Coon Prairie Cemetery. Friends may call on Thursday from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Vosseteig Funeral Home, 708 S. Hwy. 14 in Westby. Friends may also call at the church on Friday from 10 a.m. until the service at 11 a.m.
