On Thursday, Sept. 13, 2018, Eleanor “Ellie” Emilie Zebell passed from this mortal life to the everlasting life beyond.
Ellie was born Sept. 28, 1942, to Elton and Esther (McDorman) Faeth in Fort Madison, Iowa. Ellie lived in the West Salem area, for many years.
Ellie graduated from Fort Madison Senior High School, Ft. Madison and St. Ambrose Nursing School, Davenport, Iowa. She worked as a registered nurse providing quality care for over 30 years in Ft. Madison and the La Crosse area. Ellie was an accomplished pianist and in her early adult life could often be heard playing one of her favorite melodies, “Clair De Lune.”
Of the many people happy to have shared in her amazing journey include her son, Michael (Michell) Williams, Sioux Falls, S.D.; brother, Norman Faeth (special friend, Kathy Kujak), Black River Falls; granddaughter, Kjerstin (fiancé, Cole Hensley) Williams, Vermillion, S.D.; and many other close family members, cousins and friends, including nephews, Christopher (Ann) Faeth, Elk Mound, Wis., Sean (Jennifer) Faeth, Edina, Minn., Joel (Sharon) Faeth, Greenville, Wis., Adam (special friend, Cathryn Dagendesh), La Crosse; Emily Faeth, Madison, Wis.; and very special aunt, Marie Schmitt, Warsaw, Ill.
She is preceded in this life by her daughter, Kristin Williams; husband, Joseph Zebell; half-brother, Arlen Staaf; and her parents. A celebration of her life will be held at a later time. The family would like to thank and recognize the amazing care team at The Good Samaritan Society Nursing Home-Lennox, S.D., and the Compassionate Care Hospice Team for being angels on Earth.
