Mavis “Midge” June Koelbl passed away peacefully Friday, July 8, 2018, at Mayo Hospital with loving family at her side.
She was born July 31, 1926, to Herman and Ida Hicke in La Crosse.
She married Donald J Koelbl June 7, 1947. She went to local schools and worked at the Autolite, Garment Factory, Jack Winters and the Company Store. She belonged to local AARP. She loved to travel and went on many day bus trips with friends.
She is survived by her daughters, Patti (David) Cuddy of Parsons, Kan., and Debra (Bruce) Mathison of Holmen; her grandchildren, David Jr. (Hollie) Cuddy, Kari (Josh) Burden, Cindy (Boon) Armitage all of Kansas, Corey (Kari) Mathison of Onalaska, Josh Mathison and Patti of Holmen, Brad (Jenny) Hanson of Mindoro: her great-grandchildren, Wesley, Rachel Cuddy (Garth Slack), Layne, Gavin, Jayme, Madilyn, Daniel, Ellie, DJ and Ethan, all of Kansas and Justin, Jadyn, Joclyn, Ryder, Gunnar, Tristan and Dawson all of Wisconsin; and one great-great-grandson, Connor of Kansas; her sister, Donna Finch; sisters-in-law, Jeannette Limpert, Pat Hicke; and one brother-in-law, Rich Koelbl; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband; her granddaughter, Sarah Mathison Hanson; her brothers, Argyle, Blaine, Kermit; and sisters, Ilene LaPoint and Margie Martinson.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 14, in the Prairie Room at Coulee Region Cremation Group, 133 Mason St., Onalaska. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Pastor Ted Dewald will officiate.
