Robert Roof, 81, of Tomah passed away Friday, Nov. 2, 2018, at his home with his family by his side.
He was born May 19, 1937, to Timothy and Rosalyn (Morris) Roof. Bob was united in marriage to Joan Rueth Dec. 7, 1968, in Winona, Minn. He spent his working years as an over the road truck driver. He loved fishing, camping and hunting. His family meant everything to him, especially his grandchildren. He will be dearly missed.
He is survived by his wife of nearly 50 years, Joan; children, Timothy, Joseph and Jill Roof, John (Patricia) Kurtz, Bryon Kurtz, Sondra Cornell, Cynthia (Brian) Menard; 14 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; sisters, Vohnie Rabuck, Carolee Linenberg and Sharon (Steve) Lewis; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Timothy and Rosalyn; sons, Stephen, Danny and Michael Roof; a great-granddaughter, Sophie Kurtz; siblings, Harriet (Austin) DeLap, Rosemary (James) Long, Stanley (Alice) Roof; and brother-in-law, Bernard Linenberg.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 7, at the Torkelson Funeral Home in Tomah. Pastor Bob Streeter will officiate. Burial will follow in the Greenfield Cemetery, Tunnel City. Family and friends are invited for visitation from 9 a.m. until the time of service Wednesday at the funeral home.
