SPARTA — Rudy Von Ruden, 73, of Sparta died Friday, Dec. 1, 2017, at the VA Hospital in Madison, Wis.

He was born Nov. 17, 1944, in Cashton. Rudy graduated from Cashton High School in 1963, and proudly served two years in the U.S. Navy, where he earned Petty Officer First Class.

Rudy spent 50+ years doing what he loved most, playing rock and roll music. Rudy was a member of several bands over the years, including Johnny and the Shy Guys, a local band out of La Crosse. He cherished his time with his band mates and was also blessed with opportunities to play with musicians such as Jerry Lee Lewis and Crystal Gayle, to name a few.

Rudy deeply loved his girls! Wife of 45 years, Linda; daughter, Anna; and his two granddaughters, Finley (3) and Maggie (9 months). Rudy also enjoyed torturing his favorite son-in-law, Brent, with watching old Westerns.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
