WISCONSIN DELLS, Wis. — Ryan Fladhammer, 21, of Wisconsin Dells and active duty member of the U.S. Navy, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, April 16, 2017, at his residence in Chesapeake, Va.
Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Monday, April 24, at the Conway-Picha Funeral Home in Lyndon Station, Wis., with Pastor Rick Engen officiating. Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. until the time of service at 4 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Ryan was born Nov. 5, 1995, in La Crosse. He attended high school in Wisconsin Dells, and following graduation, to satisfy his ambition to serve his country, he enlisted into the U.S. Navy and was stationed in Virginia, attaining the rank of HT3/E4. His primary duties were hull maintenance technician, where he was able to apply his abilities and talents as a fabricator and welder on-board ship. While in high school, Ryan had worked for two years as a lifeguard at the Kalahari Resort in Wisconsin Dells, had a love and interest in cars and trucks, and enjoyed playing guitar. Ryan is survived by his wife, Alexis Leigh Fladhammer; father, Doyle (Diane) Fladhammer of Wisconsin Dells; mother, Debra (Terry) Monroe of Hawkeye, Iowa; siblings, Brent and Allison of Wisconsin Dells; and paternal grandparents, James and Verna Fladhammer of New Mexico. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, James and Hazel Flynn. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the woundedwarriorproject.org would be appreciated.
