The Rev. David Vasquez, a campus pastor at Luther College in Decorah, Iowa, will blend stories of immigrants today with ancient biblical stories during a program Sept. 27 and 28 at the Franciscan Spirituality Center in La Crosse.

Vasquez, a native of Guatemala, will share stories of immigrant voices from those living on the margins today and examine the Book of Ruth, which captures the fears, challenges and hopes of those who find themselves on the move.

“These sacred stories have staying power because they mirror the complexity of our own lives and speak truth to our lack of permanence,” Vasquez said.

The program costs $95, including lunch on Sept. 28. Visit FSC online at www.FSCenter.org to register or for more information. Scholarships are available by calling the FSC at 608-791-5295.
