Wine 19 Crimes

Share a little history when you bring this red blend to a holiday party.

The men featured on this line of Australian wines were British convicts transported to the other side of the world to the frontier penal colony in the late 1700s and early 1800s. The photo on this label features James Wilson who later settled in New York.

Like other 19 Crimes wines, The Banished is very approachable, thanks to some sweetness. This brooding blend of shiraz, cabernet sauvignon and grenache features distinct rich and lush fruit flavors — a good choice for diverse party palates.

Sherry: “Semi-sweet, dark and inky with flavors of fruity grape, cherry and strawberry. (3.25 stars out of 5)

Chris: “A cherry and vanilla bouquet with semi-sweet flavors of cherry, blackberry and cola.” (3.25 stars out of 5)

Available from $8 to $11.

Coming next week: Mumm Napa Brut Prestige
