A La Crosse woman charged with stealing 15 cats from an Onalaska animal shelter faces new charges for calling the organization on Friday.
A judge banned Lee Ann Shore, 46, from contacting the Coulee Region Humane Society after her May 25 arrest for burglary.
Prosecutors charged her Monday in La Crosse County Circuit Court with felony bail jumping after she called to tell a manager she had a friend interested in adopting two of her cats, according to the complaint.
The animal shelter requested extra patrols before her arrest.
Shore’s preliminary hearing is Monday. She will be examined for competency.
Shore is accused of shattering a window at the humane society to steal 15 cats, including eight seized from her apartment in May. Authorities later found all but three in a Holmen field.
