Two injured when deer hits motorcycle

Two people were injured Tuesday evening when a deer ran into the side of their motorcycle while they were riding in the town of Oakdale.

Benjamin Hurd, 19, of  Tomah was driving east on Horizon Avenue about 8:45 p.m. when the deer hit, according to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Department.

Hurd and passenger Heather Moore, 20, also of Tomah, were taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Both were wearing helmets.
