Couleecap is offering home repair grants to low- and moderate-income households in Monroe and La Crosse counties affected by the August floods.

Couleecap, the state of Wisconsin and La Crosse and Monroe counties will use funds from a Community Development Block Grant Emergency Assistance Program to assist eligible homeowners with repairs, restoration or replacement of housing elements such as furnaces, flooring and drywall.

Households must provide documentation of any insurance claims, with funds available only for repairs not covered by insurance. Original receipts for work that has already been completed may be submitted for reimbursement. Eligible households must have a gross household income of less than 80 percent of the county median income. Homeowners within La Crosse city limits are not eligible for assistance through this program.
