Winona County Sheriff’s deputies seized a large quantity of marijuana during a traffic stop in rural Winona County early Saturday morning.

Naomi Leann Ruth Bjerke, 34, of Decorah, Iowa, is charged with fourth-degree felony sale of phencyclidine and fifth-degree felony sale of marijuana after she was stopped by a sherriff’s deputy on County Road 17 at 12:54 a.m.

According to the report, Bjerke was traveling at 35 mph in a 55 mph zone and swerving in the lane.

Deputies conducted a traffic stop.

The deputy smelled marijuana coming from the vehicle.

Bjerke claimed to be traveling from Winona to Spring Grove and that she didn’t have any marijuana.

A search of the vehicle revealed a bag containing 112 grams of marijuana and 18 grams of mushrooms in sandwich bags.

A 224-gram brick of marijuana and several plastic bags of various sizes were also recovered, according to the report.

A total of 1916.5 grams of marijuana and 18 grams of mushrooms were seized by deputies.

Bjerke was taken to the Winona County Jail and is held on a $20,000 non-conditional bond. Her next court date is May 14.
