A La Crosse man who had been charged with participating in a gang rape of two teenage girls last year has been sentenced to two years’ probation in a plea agreement.

Ronald Crosby Jr.

Ronald Crosby Jr., who was 17 at the time of the alleged rapes in October of 2017 and now is 18, pleaded guilty to fourth-degree sexual assault, delivering heroin and resisting an officer Wednesday in La Crosse County Circuit Court.

The case involves an incident in which two girls allegedly were assaulted sexually over several days by as many as 11 males in a South Side La Crosse garage.

The girls, a 16-year-old and a 15-year-old who had run away from the Family & Children’s Center, allegedly were raped and forced to perform oral sex on several of the assailants, according to the criminal complaint.

The 16-year-old said the males raped and hit the 15-year-old before she intervened, the complaint stated.

The 16-year-old girl said that, when she protested, she was forced to perform oral sex on “a lot” of offenders until her throat bled. Several males then raped and hit her, according to the complaint.

The 16-year-old told authorities that Crosby forced her to perform oral sex on Oct. 31.

Prosecutors originally charged Crosby with sexual assault of a child younger than 16 and first-degree sexual assault, both as party to the crime, and first-, second- and third-degree sexual assault.

Crosby denied assaulting the girls, and Assistant District Attorney Susan Donskey told Judge Gloria Doyle Wednesday that the state now believes he had left the garage before the gang rapes occurred.

Donskey, who recommended probation, said Crosby faces as many as 14 years in prison if he violates terms of the plea agreement.

Doyle ordered a sex offender assessment of Crosby.

I bet you any amount of money, he was in a blackout.
If he wasn"t ???
He can just say the Clintons set him up and framed him.
Quite obvious.

mamasboy

In the original story, one of the victims said that this guy raped her twice. But now, he wasn't even there????

lutefisk

Ill take March in the reoffend pool

Something (two things, actually) y'all seemed to miss: "the state now believes he had left the garage before the gang rapes occurred." SO HE WASN'T EVEN THERE!

The second thing is right there in the headline: "plea deal". Maybe he's gonna name all the other people who WERE there and DID commit the rapes. But for good reason, only the judge would know that.

If he wasn't even in the garage when the ugly stuff happened, and if he's willing to name and help convict the guys that DID the ugly stuff (getting convictions on the guys that DESERVE it), then the sentence is appropriate.

Read the article, the victim says he was there and he forced her.

He pled guilty to fourth degree sexual assault, he may not have been there during the gang rape, but you don’t plead guilty to sexual assault if your innocent.

Cassandra2

Next he'll be nominated for the Supreme Court.

Climatehoax

I’m sure he’s a Hillary supporter

Climatehoax

No evidence Kavanaugh did anything, it’s called proof. Would you like to be convicted of theft because I said I saw you steal something, without proof?. You’re a moron

Cassandra2

Hoaxer, since Comrade Zerocock won't do it, I will. What's your real name? Drop the anonymity. And tell us why, since you've claimed you don't even live in LaCrosse County, that you feel the need to continually comment on these forums. I suspect you're yet another Russian troublemaker trying to undermine American values.

In typical lack of truthfulness, the Fibune didnt mention the ridiculous comments made by the judge at sentencing, that were broadcast on the radio.

Climatehoax

I think the only way these slap on the wrist, wait, it’s not even that, it’s the non punishment, probation, thugs get what they deserve is when the judges loved one, family members are the victims.
TOTALLY frikin ridiculous.

This was a horrific and barbaric crime. The perps should be behind bars, period. The victims in this case have now been victimized twice, once by the perps and a second time by the judge.

BichonFrise

Yep let him get away with it ,,,so he can do it again. Way to Judge!!

shameless

This kid is not a good person. The good news is he’ll likely offend soon and get locked up for an extended period.

canman

Another slap on the wrist for a violent crime, this clown just didn’t shop lift, some quality crow bar hotel time was warranted.
