WATERLOO – A Waterloo woman has been arrested for allegedly setting fire to a recreational vehicle parked behind her home last week.
Sharice Demetria Schoonover, 25, of 325 Reber Ave., was arrested Tuesday for first-degree arson. Her bond was set at $25,000.
Police said the fire followed an ongoing dispute with roommate Damarius O’Neal. O’Neal had removed his belongings from the house and stored them in the motor home where he planned to stay. At some point, he had a female friend over, which upset Schoonover, court records state.
Schoonover on May 3 allegedly took some of O’Neal’s belongings from the house and lit them in a backyard fire pit outside, records state. She then poured a fluid inside the RV and ignited it, causing part of the interior to catch fire while O’Neal was inside, records state.
WATERLOO – Authorities are investigating a fire inside a motor home Thursday night.
Firefighters were called to the blaze and extinguished the flames. No injuries were reported.
Schoonover allegedly told officials she wasn't trying to light the RV but was attempted to set herself on fire, court records state.
