The Franciscan Spirituality Center in La Crosse will offer an eight-week series based on the lessons in research professor and author Brené Brown’s book “Rising Strong.”

FSC spiritual director Steve Spilde will facilitate the series from 4 to 6 p.m. Mondays, Oct. 1 and 15; Nov. 5 and 19; Dec. 3 and 17, and Jan. 7 and 21, at the center at 920 Market St.

Brown, who has touched millions of people worldwide with her work on the topics of vulnerability, courage, authenticity and shame, notes in her book, “If we are brave enough, often enough, we will fall.”

The series is about getting back up, Spilde said, adding, “We will learn the physics of vulnerability, including the principles that courage is contagious and rising strong is a spiritual practice.

The series, open to both men and women, will include mini-lectures, personal reflection and small-group discussion.

The $160 cost includes a workbook. Participants can registration at the FSC website or by calling 608-791-5295. The deadline is Sept. 17.
