The Way it Was: YMCA volleyball

This undated photo from the 1950s or 1960s shows volleyball action in the gymnasium of the former YMCA at 617 Main St., where city and regional volleyball tournaments were once a popular winter sport. The YMCA was at this location for 60 years, from 1909 to 1969, in a four-story building now occupied by Western Technical College’s Administrative Center.
