VIROQUA -- The Vernon County Democratic Party will host a forum on clean water rights at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 14, at Tap House 138 at the American Legion, 120 N. Rusk Ave.

Speakers Kelvin Rodolfo, Duke Welter, Kate Beaton, Brian Wickert and Raymond Hansen will discuss issues including the impact of water tourism on the economy, geographical vulnerability to water contamination and plans for a hog facility between Viroqua and Westby. In addition, a resident of Wisconsin’s Central Sands area will report on water drawdown in lakes due to high-capacity wells, and a state conservation group representative will discuss laws passed that adversely affect Wisconsin’s water.

Food will be available for purchase prior to the 6 p.m. program.
