Joint Committee on Finance Co-Chairs, Senator Howard Marklein (R-Spring Green) and Representative Mark Born (R-Beaver Dam), previewed Tuesday's agency briefings for the Department of Public Instruction and the Department of Workforce Development. The committee will continue agency briefings on Wednesday for the Department of Natural Resources and the Public Service Commission, as well as hold a public hearing in Whitewater on Friday. In this segment, Rep. Born talked about record spending on education in the last budget and how that can be improved upon based on DPI's recommendations. He also highlighted the committee's interest in DPI's plan for students getting back into the classroom and utilizing federal aid. Later in his remarks, Born addressed the committee's interest in DWD's plan to improve the worker shortage.
