"The DHS data website has earned a grade of A+ from the COVID-19 Tracking Project, which I believe is an indicator that this is a place you can trust for accurate data," Wisconsin Department of Health Services Deputy Secretary Julie Willems Van Dijk said during the recent DHS media briefing. In an effort to further improve upon their reporting accuracy, Willems Van Dijk highlighted that two new data elements have been added to the site. The first data component is a graphic to report all people with positive and negative results as well as the positivity rate. This data element was added due to concerns about a backlog in moving negative tests from the staging area in their disease surveillance system into the live reporting area. The second data component includes a graphic that shows the total number of tests administered in Wisconsin as compared to the total testing capacity. "Approximately 21 percent of people that we report have had more than one test," Williems Van Dijk said. "As you will see, our growth in lab capacity...is also matched by the growth in actual tests administered."
