WisEye Morning Minute: WI Brewery Helps Parents Sue School Districts

  • 0

On this episode of Rewind: Your Week in Review, WisconsinEye Host and CBS 58 Capitol Reporter Emilee Fannon and Editor JR Ross discuss Minocqua Brewing Company Super PAC owner Kirk Bangstad announcing that they will sue "every school board in Wisconsin that doesn't follow CDC guidelines." Currently, there are two federal lawsuits filed against Waukesha and Fall Creek School District. Bangstad is funding the lawsuits to help parents sue school districts after their child became infected with COVID-19. "They have almost no chance of success," Rick Esenberg said, president and general counsel for Wisconsin Institute for Law and Liberty. "The reason has nothing to do with the particulars of COVID and masks, it has to do with the larger reluctance of courts to substitute their judgement for the policy judgment of local units of government."
