WISCOY TOWNSHIP — A 52-year-old Caledonia woman was taken to the hospital with injuries stemming from a two-vehicle accident Wednesday evening on Hwy. 76 in southern Winona County.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, a Chevy Malibu driven by Angela Marilyn Martinez, 25, of Spring Grove, struck a deer while traveling north on Hwy. 76. The driver lost control and slid sideways into the southbound lane, where it collided with a Toyota Camry driven by Marc Thomas Johnson, 44, of Houston.

Donna Jane, a passenger in the Malibu driven by Martinez, was taken to Gundersen Lutheran Health System with non life-threatening injuries. Martinez and Johnson were treated at the scene and released.

All three occupants were wearing seat belts. Alcohol was not believed to be a factor.
