On October 21, Governor Tony Evers held a news conference to announce and sign Executive Order #54 which calls for a special session on legislation to address gun violence in Wisconsin. Gov. Evers is requesting that the legislature take up the bills that he introduced last month that related to expanding universal background checks and creating an Extreme Risk Protection Order red flag law process. "These [bills] are common sense solutions that we know can save lives because they have already done so in the states that have adopted them...this is what the majority of the people want."
