On July 15, WisconsinEye Senior Producer Steve Walters interviewed Exploit No More Executive Director Jarrett Luckett, Exploit No More Executive Coordinator Melania Klemowits, and UMOS Anti-Trafficking Coordinator Josh Beaton on human trafficking in Milwaukee. Luckett described the average demographic of a "buyer" of people who are trafficked. "The national average buyer across the U.S., in Wisconsin as well, is a middle-aged, white male, who's college-educated, married and has children." Klemowits described the psychological trauma that people who are trafficked experience. "They've done brain scans to study what their brains look like. That level of trauma in PTSD in their brain mirrors somebody, or is greater than somebody, who has been in active combat in war."
