On July 10, 2019, the Assembly Committee on State Affairs held a public hearing on Assembly Bill 213 which relates to the privacy of a lottery winner. Cindy Polzin, director of the Wisconsin State Lottery, provided information on their practices and highlighted how, "winner transparency increases player security and and reduces lottery fraud." Polzin shared examples of lottery insiders who committed lottery fraud and were caught in part by the winners' names being known.
