WASHINGTON - The cell number of lobbyist Bill Broydrick, whose firm lobbies in Wisconsin and Washington, showed up in the phone records of a Washington escort service that federal prosecutors allege was a prostitution ring.

A search of the phone records posted on the Internet showed that the cell number came up three times in 2004, with each call lasting less than a minute.

Deborah Jeane Palfrey posted the records after federal prosecutors charged her with racketeering by running a prostitution ring that netted more than $2 million. She contends her escort service, Pamela Martin and Associates, was a legitimate business.

Broydrick declined to comment today.

Broydrick is listed as a principal in Broydrick & Associates, which has offices in Washington, Milwaukee and Madison. He has lobbied in Washington for several Wisconsin groups, including the Wisconsin Health and Hospital Association and the City of Sun Prairie, federal records show. In Wisconsin, his clients include 3M, the Association of State Prosecutors and the Wisconsin Energy Corporation, state records show.

His connection to the list was reported last week by wisconsin.blogspot.com and this week by WTMJ-TV in Milwaukee.
