The age of irresponsibility rages on as thousands of 21st century Texans now seek assistance from, you guessed it, the responsible hardworking American taxpayer.
Those of us who purchase homeowner's insurance can't fathom why now up to 30 percent of the flooded homes in the Lone Star State don't have coverage for their losses.
Most affected didn't even set down their cell phones long enough to evacuate to higher ground.
Did we learn anything from Katrina? Are we so dependent on our "stuff" that we would rather be rescued from the roof than leave it behind?
So now, as always, our much maligned president has flown to the rescue bearing bags of taxpayer dollars and the reward for shortsighted gratification and rampant lack of common sense.
